About
Starting around 2014, I started to shape and attempt to glass my own crude surfboards after years of ding repairs. A few came out ok, but all were surfed. Around 2017 I joined forces with Tommy George (Eye of the Sun) and Dave Grimes (Tak handshapes). Monumental times and experience were had at The Compound, you just had to be there.
Jump to 2020 after we worked in some surfboard production settings we opened our own shop, West Ave Glassing in Long Branch NJ. Many great surf trips, local sessions, new friends and more since have blessed us along the way. Many years of putting in the hard work, pushing the limits of our boards, and open design exploration has given us the confidence to open your mind to the many designs were lucky to have access to.
From shortboards, twin fins, nose riders, guns and more, we have ridden and tested more than most. My goal as a shaper is to get you on what your surfing and soul needs, and give you something to trust when the waves arrive. Surfing is a life long experience, and just like the waves themselves, the difference among board designs can keep you stoked and learning for life!
